Weddings at Scenic Beach State Park | Alison & Treyvon’s Relaxed and Colorful Celebration in Seabeck, WA

There are weddings that feel like a production, and then there are weddings that simply feel like home. Alison and Treyvon’s wedding at Scenic Beach State Park in Seabeck, Washington was one of those days where everything felt comfortable, meaningful, and completely true to them. Surrounded by about fifty of their closest friends and family, they celebrated a love story that had been years in the making in this quiet and beautiful waterfront setting.

As a wedding photographer serving Seabeck, Washington, these are the kinds of wedding days I always look forward to. The scenery is incredible, of course, but what makes a wedding memorable is the people and the moments they share together. Alison and Trey created a day that wasn’t about putting on a show. It was about honoring family, celebrating lifelong friendships, and spending quality time with the people who have been cheering them on from the very beginning.

Why Weddings at Scenic Beach State Park Are So Special

If you’ve never visited Scenic Beach State Park, it’s one of Kitsap County’s hidden gems. Perched on a bluff overlooking Hood Canal with the Olympic Mountains rising in the distance, it offers an incredible combination of waterfront views, towering evergreens, and quiet wooded spaces that feel quiet and peaceful.

The historic lodge on the property also makes wedding mornings feel wonderfully relaxed. Alison and Trey spent the morning getting ready in separate rooms inside the house, surrounded by their wedding party and family. There was no rushing from location to location or feeling pressed for time. Everyone had space to settle in, catch up with one another, and enjoy the anticipation before the ceremony began. It set the tone for the entire day, which stayed calm and easygoing from start to finish.

A Wedding Filled With Color

One of the first things that caught my attention was just how vibrant everything felt. Alison’s bridesmaids wore dresses and pantsuits that perfectly complemented their bouquets, creating a wedding party aesthetic as alive as their fresh flowers. Every floral arrangement seemed to burst with bright pinks, oranges, yellows, and blues, bringing so much life to the ceremony against the deep greens of the forest and the blue water beyond.

Those incredible florals were all created by their friend, Jay Lopez, who handcrafted every bouquet and flower crown. You could tell how much care went into each arrangement, and it made the flowers feel even more personal knowing they had been made by someone who truly loved the couple.

Then there was Alison’s dress.

Instead of a traditional white gown, delicate colorful floral patterns covered the fabric, making it feel like something out of a woodland storybook. Walking through the trees at Scenic Beach State Park, the bride genuinely looked like a fairy wandering through the forest. It suited both the setting and Alison’s personality perfectly.

From “Just Friends” to Forever

Every couple has a story, and Alison and Trey’s is one that made everyone smile.

They started out as “just friends,” although apparently almost everyone around them saw where things were headed long before they did. Family and friends joked throughout the day that they’d known Alison and Trey would end up together years before the two of them finally realized it themselves.

Watching them interact, it wasn’t hard to understand why. They have the kind of relationship that’s comfortable and playful, where laughter comes naturally and neither person has to pretend to be anyone other than themselves. That ease carried through every part of the wedding day and made everything feel incredibly genuine.

A Ceremony Rich With Family History

Their ceremony overlooking Hood Canal was beautiful from beginning to end, but it wasn’t just the scenery that made it emotional.

As Alison started walking down the aisle, Trey immediately began crying. It was one of those reactions that says everything without a single word being spoken, and there wasn’t a dry eye among many of the guests watching.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day, though, wasn’t immediately visible.

Alison and Trey intentionally chose June 29th as their wedding date on paper because Alison’s great-grandparents had also been married on June 29, 1907. Even more incredibly, the rings they exchanged during the ceremony were those very same heirloom wedding bands, still engraved with the original wedding date from over a century ago.

I’ve photographed many weddings over the years, and I can honestly say that is one of the most sentimental family heirlooms I’ve ever had the privilege of documenting. It was such a beautiful way to honor the generations who came before them while beginning a new chapter together.

The Moments Everyone Will Remember

One of my favorite parts of photographing weddings is watching people relax once the ceremony is over, and Alison and Trey’s bridal party was so much fun to photograph because everyone’s personalities came bursting out.

There was plenty of joking, running across the lawn, dancing together, laughing until people doubled over, and simply enjoying the fact that they all got to spend the day together. Nothing felt forced or overly posed. Every interaction happened naturally, and those authentic moments are always the ones that end up becoming my favorite photographs.

The reception carried that same feeling. Dinner was served beneath a large tree overlooking the water, where everyone gathered around long tables to enjoy a plated meal together while taking in the incredible view. Conversations flowed easily, people wandered around visiting with one another, friends stepped away to share a smoke, kids ran through the grass, and the evening unfolded at its own relaxed pace.

There were also moments that carried incredible emotional weight.

A few years before the wedding, Alison’s mother passed away. During the reception, Alison’s older sister stood to read their mother’s favorite poem about love. As she spoke, Alison’s father quietly cried while listening to words that clearly held so much meaning for their family. It was one of those moments that reminded everyone that weddings aren’t only about celebrating the future—they’re also about honoring the people who helped shape us, including the ones who can’t be there in person.

That balance between joy and remembrance seemed to define so much of the day. There was laughter echoing across the lawn one moment and quiet tears the next. There was dancing, storytelling, hugs between old friends, heartfelt conversations with family members, and countless reminders of just how loved Alison and Trey are by the people around them.

A Wedding That Felt Completely Like Them

One of the things I appreciated most about Alison and Trey’s wedding was that nothing felt like it was happening because tradition said it should. Every choice reflected who they are, from the colorful flowers and heirloom rings to the intimate guest list and relaxed pace of the day.

With only about fifty guests, everyone present shared a real connection with the couple. It never felt like a room full of acquaintances filling seats. Instead, it felt like one large family celebrating two people they genuinely adore. That closeness created such a warm atmosphere throughout the day and allowed Alison and Trey to actually spend meaningful time with the people who had come to celebrate alongside them.
