From the very beginning of the day, it was clear that this wedding wasn’t about putting on a show. It was about being present with their people.
Slow, meaningful moments with their people
Linnea spent her morning getting ready with her bridesmaids, and honestly… it felt like I wasn’t even there half the time. She was so completely herself—laughing, chatting, just existing in the moment—that documenting it all felt effortless. Like being a fly on the wall in the best way.
And the details? So thoughtful without trying too hard.
Most of the florals throughout the day were dried, which gave everything this soft, earthy texture that fit the quiet and woodsy setting perfectly. But one of my favorite pieces was Linnea’s bouquet—handmade from felt by one of her bridesmaids. Each flower held a different meaning, which made it feel less like an accessory and more like a story she carried with her.
Also, I have to say it: Linnea is 100% a woodland fairy if I’ve ever met one. The way she moved, the way she laughed—everything about her just belonged in that quiet and woodsy space.
Equal parts heartfelt and chaotic (in the best way)
While the morning had this calm, grounded energy, the groomsmen brought… chaos 😂
Their group photos turned into full-on antics, including lifting Jordan up like Superman and just fully leaning into being goofballs. It was the perfect balance to the day—nothing stiff, nothing overly serious, just people having fun together.
This is exactly why I love being a candid wedding photographer. These are the moments you can’t plan, and honestly wouldn’t want to.
A ceremony full of personality (and a very large dog)
One thing I didn’t expect: for the pup they told me would be their ring bearer to turn out being a small-couch-sized behemoth of a boy. Seriously, he was bigger than the bride. I’ve literally seen smaller horses.
It was honestly hard to decide if he was the highlight of the processional, or if it was the flower girl confidently making her own path down the aisle—without her flowers, as many a spunky flower girl has done before her.
Linnea & Jordan’s vows were sweet and personal, and their officiant added thoughtful details about them along the way that made the entire ceremony feel even more tailored to who they are.
Golden hour, a golf cart, and the dreamiest light
As the evening rolled in, we caught that kind of golden hour that makes everything feel even more quiet and woodsy.
Deedee—my amazing colleague and the owner of Sadie Lake Weddings—drove Linnea, Jordan, and me around the property in a golf cart while the light filtered through the trees. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, just chasing pockets of light and letting things unfold naturally.
And then, one of the most special parts of the day—
A private first dance in the trees
Both Linnea and Jordan are more on the introverted side, so instead of having their first dance in front of everyone, they chose to do it tucked away in the trees.
No audience. No pressure. Just the two of them.
It was quiet, emotional, and completely theirs. At one point, Linnea’s dress caught the light in a way that made her look like she was floating—like actually flying. One of those moments that feels almost unreal when you’re watching it happen.
Sunshine, bubbles, and ending the day just right
Back at the reception, guests were fully soaking in the sunshine—playing yard games, dancing, and waving around bubble wands that caught the light in the prettiest way.
It felt playful and easy, but still carried that quiet and woodsy feeling throughout. The kind of celebration where people aren’t checking the time—they’re just enjoying it.
My time with them ended in the sunshine, which somehow felt fitting. No big dramatic ending, just a soft, happy close to a really genuine day.
