Khun & Htet’s Snohomish County Courthouse Elopement

Khun and Htet started out as shy roommates and, over the course of many years, slowly fell in love. Both originally from Burma, they decided on a courthouse wedding since most of their family wasn’t able to be there. Simple, intimate, and completely about the two of them.

As their Snohomish County wedding photographer, I knew pretty quickly that this was going to be a fun one. There was a pretty significant language barrier between us, but somehow we communicated just fine through gestures, smiles, and a whole lot of laughing. Honestly, we had so much fun together that it’s hard to put into words.

After their quick ceremony at Snohomish County District Court, we headed to a nearby park for photos. They laughed, played in the dandelions, and were completely themselves the entire time. They were also so sweet to make sure I got photos of their best friends enjoying themselves as well. Their joy just radiates off of them, and photographing their courthouse elopement was such a genuinely happy experience.

If you’re planning a Snohomish County courthouse wedding or courthouse elopement, you don’t need a huge production to make it meaningful. A quick ceremony, some time together, and photos that feel like you can be more than enough.
