Everett Proposal Photography | Calvin & Lilliana on a Rainy Morning

When Calvin reached out to plan a surprise proposal in Everett, WA, he knew he wanted somewhere that would make for beautiful photos. As a local, I recommended a few spots around the area, and he ultimately chose the Evergreen Arboretum, a private little haven in northern Everett with tons of blooming flowers and gorgeous green spaces.

There was just one hiccup on the morning of the proposal: the weather.

In the middle of summer, we woke up to wind and rain. At 8am. Somehow, Calvin still managed to convince Lilliana to put on a beautiful sundress for a “surprise,” and I followed them through the arboretum without her having any idea I was there.

When Calvin finally got down on one knee, I was ready to capture the moment.

After the proposal, we spent the next hour wandering through the arboretum, dancing on the lawn and playing between the rows of flowers. And don’t worry—we stayed on the paths and didn’t trample anything! The rain had cleared just in time, right as they arrived, and I loved documenting their beautiful quiet morning in the trees.
