A Day on the Water

As autumn turned the trees golden across the Puget Sound, Andria and Rigo planned a Seattle boat elopement that felt equal parts intentional and relaxed, surrounded by a small group of their closest people. As a documentary-style Seattle elopement photographer, these are the kinds of days I love most, where I can step back, observe, and capture things as they naturally happen.

And this one had a little bit of everything: city views, water, soft light, and a sunset ceremony that couldn’t have been timed any better.

Andria and Rigo rented a large boat for their day, giving everyone space to relax and enjoy the experience together.

We set off with the skipper from Seattle Water Tours (a great guy named Mike who I would totally recommend hanging out with), who made the whole ride feel smooth and easy. From the start, it felt less like a structured timeline and more like an experience everyone got to be part of.

Cruising Through Seattle at Golden Hour

We made our way from Magnolia toward Lake Washington, cruising through Lake Union as the light started to soften.

On one side, the Seattle skyline stretched out, and on the other, Gas Works Park at the edge of the water. It was one of those moments where everything just lines up, the light, the setting, the energy of the day.

You could feel the shift as we got closer to the ceremony, the kind of quiet anticipation that settles in without anyone really saying it out loud.

A Sunset Ceremony on the Water

Their sunset ceremony took place as the sky completely changed, soft blues turning into pink and purple clouds that felt almost unreal.

Andria and Rigo stood together, surrounded by their people, and shared personal vows that were full of emotion. You could see it in their faces, in the way they looked at each other, in the pauses between words.

One of my favorite parts wasn’t just them, though, it was their guests. The reactions during the ceremony said so much. It was abundantly clear how much they cared for these two.

Twilight Photos & A Night to Celebrate

After the ceremony, we stayed out on the water as the light faded into twilight.

We took a few more photos around the edge of the boat, the city lights starting to come through and the water reflecting everything back in that soft, glowy way.

Then the rest of the night shifted into celebration. Music, laughter, friends all around them, it turned into the best kind of party where time disappears. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day!
