Natasha and Rob wanted a wedding day that was just for them—a chance to say their vows in the mountains with no one watching but the wildlife (and me, of course). Traveling to National Parks has been a huge part of their relationship, so it felt pretty fitting that their elopement adventure would take them somewhere surrounded by the kind of views they’ve spent years chasing together.
Before we started the hike, Natasha gave Rob a painting of Yellowstone, which was such a sweet nod to all the adventures they’ve shared. She also grew the dahlias in her own bouquet, which made the flowers feel like an especially personal part of the day. From there, we headed into the Mount Baker wilderness for their elopement adventure.
The trail we explored had a beautiful and iconic bridge that made for some of the most epic photos of the day. We also found a quiet spot overlooking one of the gorgeous blue lakes where Nat and Rob exchanged their vows, with the mountains all around them. Afterward, we wandered through the rest of the trail, stopping for photos and taking in the views as we made the full loop. It was surprisingly quiet, too, which made the whole thing feel even more like their own little corner of the mountains.
Once we finished the hike, we found another viewpoint with a beautiful mountain and lake view far below. We set up a tiny camping table, cut their cake, and enjoyed a slice while taking in the scenery.
And we couldn’t finish without including another important part of their adventures: their trusty car. It has already carried them on so many adventures together, so we wrapped up the day with some flash photos in front of it before heading down the mountain.
