Brianna & Grant’s Dancing Fish Vineyards Wedding on Whidbey Island

Brianna and Grant have held a very special place in my heart ever since their magical Ebey’s Landing engagement session. They’re one of those couples who are just ridiculously easy to photograph. They’re madly in love, completely comfortable together, love the outdoors and a good adventure, and absolutely adore their seven-month-old baby girl. Basically, they’re my kind of people.

So when they told me they were having an intimate wedding at Dancing Fish Vineyards on Whidbey Island after eloping more than a year earlier, I was estatic to be invited back to document another chapter of their love story.

With only about 40 of their closest friends and family there, the day felt incredibly personal. It was less about putting on a big production and more about spending a really good day with the people they love most.

Weddings at Dancing Fish Vineyards

Dancing Fish Vineyards was such a beautiful setting for their Whidbey Island wedding. One of my favorite details was their custom sign, designed to look like a national parks sign with their names on it. It fit them perfectly and felt like a little nod to their love of camping and getting outside.

They carried that theme into the wedding favors, too, with camping-style mugs personalized with their names. And their cake had mountains and trees on it, because obviously it did.

But as much as I loved all the little details, the moments happening around them were the real highlight.

Bri and Grant shared private vows at the lookout point overlooking the venue, giving them a quiet moment together before jumping back into the celebration. They also spent plenty of time soaking up their favorite role yet: being parents. Watching them play with their baby girl throughout the day was pretty much impossible not to love.

And then there was the father-daughter dance. Except instead of Grant dancing with a grown-up daughter someday way down the road, he got to have that moment with his seven-month-old right now. It was ridiculously sweet.

They also had sentimental dances with their parents and with each other, the beautiful lights of the venue giving Beauty & the Beast vibes, to my mind.

A Little Bit of Everything

One of my favorite cocktail-hour moments had absolutely nothing to do with the wedding couple. I looked over and watched Grandma casually throw down her cane so she could play some corn hole.

Honestly? Respect.

That pretty much summed up the entire day. There were plenty of sentimental moments, but there was also a lot of laughing, playing, dancing, and generally having a really good time together.

And because I apparently couldn’t let them leave without one last adventure, we spent the final 90 seconds of their coverage running between the grape vines. Just the two of them, laughing and soaking up those last few moments of their wedding day.

It was the perfect ending to a day that felt completely like Bri and Grant: full of love, family, the outdoors, and a whole lot of fun.

I’m so glad I got to be their photographer for this one. From that first Ebey’s Landing engagement session to their intimate celebration at Dancing Fish Vineyards, these two have been such a joy to photograph.
